Visit with Ross and Fiona

Ross Delivers a Wicked Left Hook
We had a great visit with Ross and Fiona today that we’ve been looking forward to for over 2 years.
Last Christmas they got snowed in so we were unable to have a proper catch-up.
They were the first people to visit Morgan in the hospital and so, six months later, they got to see just how far she’s come.
She decided that today is the day to make some serious headway: first lurch FORWARD while crawling, first mostly unassisted sit-up, and at the end of the day, a non-stop barrage of talking.
Thank you for the beautiful gifts (very much unnecessary, but very appreciated).

Morgan’s First Christmas II
What a magical day!
We had a great time with family last night at grandma and grandpa Lehmann’s (photos submitted).
Morgan got completely exhausted ripping up paper so we headed home, put the baby to bed, and watched a couple of thrillers (not the most Christmasy theme, but fun nonetheless).
Morgan did NOT deliver on her Christmas promise of giving us sleep (still up every hour). Instead, papa was given the joy of unwrapping a Level III Disaster Diaper (photo not submitted).
We had a beautiful white Christmas (frost, not snow, thankfully) complete with deer in the front yard.
Grandpa dropped off a wonderfully, hand built toy chest that we got some great photos of Morgan playing in.
Beth is busy cooking a turkey for us tonight (Morgan will get her first taste!).

Morgan’s First Christmas
It’s Morgan’s first Christmas and she couldn’t be happier.

Baby Crack
We have a baby that is JUST about to start crawling (she can pull herself forward and kick herself backwards) and she is ALMOST sitting on her own.
She’s pretty interested in the Christmas tree but I don’t think it compares to her Baby-Crack.
Morgan’s Christmas present to us: SLEEP.
Do you hear me kiddo? We want SLEEP for Christmas.

Baby Stomp
We’ve only been hinting at it for months… so if it’s not in our stockings tomorrow morning, there is going to be some baby stomping going on.
We are off to the grandparents tonight for a get-together so will update this post tomorrow.

Big Toe
So we’ve recently discovered that Morga
n has systematically been blowing out the big toe on ALL of her socks, jumpers, and sleepers.
ALL of them, whether new or previously enjoyed, have been worn through and her little big toe sticks out.
It’s pretty cute.
She takes after her mom in so many ways.
Baby + Quilt = Warm & Fuzzy Cuteness
Today, Morgan was given a beautiful quilt made by Tracie F.
She instantly took to burying into it. I hope Tracie knows that all of her hard work will be soon covered in baby drool.
Morgan just loves it!
Thank you =)
6 Month Checkup
M
- She now weighs 17 lbs (!) (75th percentile)
- She now measures 27″ in length (75th percentile)
- Healthy as a [really healthy] horse
She also went to the optometrist for a checkup. She was an absolute champ in the darkened room and didn’t mind the bright light in her eyes. The only allowance that Dr. English had to make was to position himself in front of his screen-saver (that baby crack strikes again). She has perfect, beautiful eyes (but of course, as her father, I already knew that).
ANCA Christmas Party
On December 12 we had the privilege of attending ANCA‘s 2009 Christmas Party.
Charlie, Leonora, and Anthony hosted a terrific event and we had a lovely evening. Morgan just about got onto her hands and knees for the first time!
Thanks for a great time!
Sixth Month
Another month down and things are different in so many ways except the one that we really want. Morgan still isn’t sleeping well, in fact it seems like the older she gets the worse she sleeps. She seems to be stubborn like Mommy and Daddy so we can’t even let her cry it out. The several times we tried, she just cries for hours until we finally cave and go to her. Oh well, what can you do?

She is almost sitting up on her own now and she’s also starting to stick her bum in the air. It’s amazing how much she can get around the room even though she’s not crawling yet. She can push herself around when she’s on her back with her feet, or when she’s on her tummy with her arms.
A few Firsts:
★ Eating Peas, Sweet Potatoes, Carrots, and Beans
★ Piece of Puffed Wheat
★ Visit to Strong Start
★ Getting her soother into her mouth by herself
★ Bathtime with Daddy
★ Time in snowsuit
★ Wiggling around the room on her own
★ Vomiting session (not as fun at the other firsts)
Here are a few pictures to enjoy.
