The Sky is Falling
The last few nights we’ve had some pretty terrific winds (and I’m talking about more than Beth & her Indian Food).
Last night at about 5 in the morning we were awoken by a great crash outside… in the morning we discovered that the top 30′ of a cedar tree in our yard had split off and fallen on our sheds!
The sheds seem to have survived quite well (only two loosened shingles if you can believe it). The main impact tore up our lawn and missed our deck by only a few inches.
The scary part was that the very tips of the upper branches missed Morgan’s window by only a foot or so…
We were very lucky.
So, now it’s time to talk to a tree removal crew… =)
Oh, on a completely different page, Morgan slept last night for a whopping 13 hours! Apparently she is a storm-baby.

Congrats on Morgan sleeping. I’m really jealous though!
We just let her cry it out. It took about 4 nights with each night getting better. The first night was horrible, she cried for hours! We’re just hoping it sticks!
Morgan tends to do things for 5 day stints… talk for 5 days and then nothing… zurbert for 5 days and then nothing…
let’s hope this lasts longer !
(11 hours last night)
Heh, that’s not going to work for us now that Isobel’s in her big girl bed. She’ll just crawl out and come looking for us.
It’s definitely much nicer getting more than an hour’s worth of sleep.
Hope you are feeling better Brandi – we all got hit by this cold, but not as bad as you it sounds.
Hope the Olympics schedule doesn’t wipe you out!
Hi Matt
Interesting that a tree nearly wipes you out and everyone comments on Morgan sleeping through the night! I have enjoyed the Morgan story on your blog. She is just too cute.
Would love to see the paintings by Auntie Irene, and she probably would, too. She likes to keep a record of her work, since she gives it all away!
Take care and love to you and your family,
Your cousin,
Della
Can’t wait to get the paintings back… the framers do a great job of it.
Will take photo’s and post just as soon as they come in.
Hope all is well with you!
