Visit with Ross and Fiona
Today we headed into Langley to visit with Ross and Fiona.
We had already had an eventful night so we were pretty tired.
We were late getting to bed and then woken up at 2:30 am when a huge dead tree fell just outside the fence line. The cracking of branches and splitting of the stump went on for 20+ seconds. This huge tree was bone dry and ended up taking out a few surrounding Alders as it went. We were out with the neighbors trying to figure out just what the hell had happened (no wind, no rhyme or reason as to why, it just happened). Morgan slept through it but woke up at 3:30 needing a bit of a bottle and some cuddling.
We then slept lightly and were up at 5:45, on the road to the ferry by 7:00, and then into Ikea for 9:30. We bought a ton of crap and of course the one shelving item that we actually went in to get was completely out of stock.
We were then off to Langley for a great visit with Ross and Fiona accompanied by steak and red wine – nice!
It was another scorcher so we chased the shade around the back yard.
We were then back to the 6:30 ferry where Morgan got to play in the water park by the terminal… it was packed!
Home for 8:30 and then bed for everyone (except for dad who got to stay up putting together the Ikea furniture =) )
